About Danielle
Hi, my name is Danielle Watson and I am a Registered Psychotherapist. I received my undergraduate degree from Brock University in Child and Youth Studies and my Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
Becoming a therapist was something I wanted after experiencing my own journey through an eating disorder and therapy. I knew I wanted to help others in the therapeutic setting. I know what it is like to struggle and be where you are. It can feel lonely and frustrating. I hope to encompass a warm, welcoming space for you to heal and grow.
Through my personal experience and education, I offer individualized psychotherapy to those 7 years of age and up. My approach is warm, practical, and tailored to each person’s needs. I draw from a range of evidence-based therapy approaches to help clients better understand themselves, build coping skills, and work toward meaningful change.
With adults, I specialize in working with eating disorders and body image struggles using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Enhanced, also known as CBT-E. I also work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, and emotional difficulties. Together, we focus on understanding the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, building on your strengths, and developing healthier ways to respond to life’s challenges.
With children and teens, I support concerns such as anxiety, big emotions, school stress, behavioural concerns, family changes, and parent-child challenges. I use developmentally appropriate approaches, including elements of play therapy, art therapy, CBT, and practical skill-building to help children and teens understand their emotions, manage stress, build confidence, and cope more effectively at home, at school, and in relationships.
Outside of the therapy office, you can find me hanging out with my daughter, family, my 2 dogs and or with friends. I also love a warm cup of tea, doing a puzzle or being active.
I look forward to connecting with you.
To share your weakness is to make yourself vulnerable; to make yourself vulnerable is to show your strength.
