Getting Ready For Your Consultation
Your free consultation will be by phone or video, whatever is more convenient for you.
You'll have an opportunity to learn more about the therapist’s approach, how they work with couples, and whether they feel they can help you reach your relationship goals.
To give the therapist a better understanding of what you are looking for, be prepared to briefly share: (1) The main concerns or challenges you are facing, (2) How these concerns are affecting your relationship, and (3) What you hope will be different as a result of therapy.
As well, here are some suggested questions for your therapist:
How would you approach the concerns we are bringing to therapy?
How do you typically help couples who feel stuck in the same patterns?
What can we expect from the first few sessions?
Approximately how many sessions might we need to reach our goals?
Based on what we have shared, how you could you help us?
If you have any other questions after your consultation,
feel free to reach out by phone or text to our client care team at 905-321-0550.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is the initial consultation free?
A: Yes. We offer a free consultation to help you understand how couples therapy may help and determine whether the therapist's approach is a good fit for your relationship goals.
Q: Do we have to book with the therapist we meet during the consultation?
A. No. The consultation is not a commitment to work with that therapist. Our goal is to help you find the right support for your relationship. If the therapist you meet is not the best fit, contact us and we'll help you explore other options.
Q: Do both partners need to attend the consultation?
A: Yes. We ask that both partners attend the consultation whenever possible. Couples therapy works best when both people have an opportunity to share their experiences, understand the process, and begin working together toward change.
Q: Are your therapists covered under employee benefit plans?
A: Yes. Most extended health plans cover therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker. Depending on your plan, we’ll either direct bill or provide detailed receipts for reimbursement.
Q: Do we have to decide during the consultation if we want to move forward?
A. No. Some couples know right away that they want to book with the therapist, while others need time to think and talk it over. You are welcome to decide during the consultation or take the time you need and contact us when you are ready.
Q: Can we switch to another therapist at any point during therapy?
A. Yes. If the fit isn’t right, let us know and our Client Care Team will help you connect with another therapist who may be a better match. Therapists completely understand that not every pairing is the right one, and they genuinely want you to work with someone you feel comfortable with.
Q: What if one partner is unsure about couples therapy?
A: It is common for couples to have different levels of readiness. The consultation can help both partners better understand the process and decide what support may be helpful.

Love is not the absence of conflict. It is the ability to stay connected through conflict.
