About Nina

I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. I hold a Master’s in Social Work as well as a Bachelor’s in Social Work, and I bring over 15 years of experience in the field. My clients often describe me as supportive, calm, and grounded. I believe in encouraging growth through compassion and curiosity to help you reach your goals.

Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment

I am dedicated to creating a safe environment for everyone I work with. I have experience supporting individuals who have experienced trauma, anxiety, depression, and domestic or family violence. My training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and my interest in other modalities such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), talk therapy, and Polyvagal Theory all inform my approach. My commitment to ongoing learning and professional development ensures that I stay informed about the latest research and best practices.

My Approach

Using a collaborative and holistic approach, I strive to recognize each person’s unique value and strengths. Together, we can develop strategies to overcome challenges and work toward a more fulfilling life. As a therapist, my goal is to build a therapeutic relationship that emphasizes your resilience and growth.

What to Expect

I understand that it can feel intimidating to open up about your life and struggles to someone new. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and safe as you begin therapy. I’ll invite you to share what’s been going on in your life, what’s on your mind, or what’s been bothering you. You’ll have the space to speak openly and explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Helping people is my passion, and I thrive on witnessing positive and lasting changes in the lives of my clients.

Life Outside of Work

In my free time, you’ll most likely find me outdoors—hiking, bike riding, canoeing, horseback riding, or simply playing in the backyard with my twin boys, husband, and our golden retriever.

If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be honored to support you. Whether you’re facing challenges or simply seeking a space to grow, we can work together to create meaningful change. Schedule your first session today—I look forward to connecting with you.

Courage is not the absence of fear; courage is fear walking.
