Meet Our Therapists

Dedication. Expertise. Passion.

Since 2008, we’ve provided in-person therapy from our Niagara Falls office, supporting individuals, couples, and families across the Niagara Region.

Meet our therapists below, book your appointment online, or call or text 905-321-0550. We’ll help you find the therapist who’s right for you.

Thoughtful Therapists. Practical Help.

Every therapist on our team brings a unique mix of training, experience, and personality to their work. Some focus on anxiety, trauma, or relationships; others specialize in ADHD, mood concerns, burnout, or academic and career challenges.

What they share is a strong clinical foundation, a down-to-earth approach, and a genuine commitment to helping you make lasting change—moving beyond symptom management toward building a life you love.

Take a moment to read through each profile and see who feels like the right fit for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do you choose the therapists who work at Abma Counselling?

A: We look for therapists who combine clinical skill with genuine compassion. Each new team member goes through interviews, background checks, and references. We only bring on people we’d trust with our own family.

Q: How much experience do your therapists have?

A. Our clinicians range from early-career therapists to seasoned practitioners with over fifteen years in the field. All receive supervision and ongoing professional development to keep their skills sharp.

Q: What’s the difference between a Registered Psychotherapist and a Registered Social Worker?
A: Both provide psychotherapy, but they’re licensed under different colleges in Ontario. Psychotherapists register with the CRPO; Social Workers register with the OCSWSSW. Each has graduate-level training and follows strict ethical standards.

Q: Are your therapists covered under employee benefit plans?

A: Yes. Most extended health plans cover therapy with a Registered Psychotherapist or Registered Social Worker. Depending on your plan, we’ll either direct bill or provide detailed receipts for reimbursement.

Q: How do I know which therapist is the right fit for me?

A. Our Client Care Team helps match you based on your goals, preferences, and availability. They know each therapist’s style and specialties. If you already have someone in mind, you can request them directly.

Q: Can I switch to another therapist if I don’t feel comfortable?

A. Yes. If the fit isn’t right, let us know and our Client Care Team will help you connect with another therapist who may be a better match.

Q: How does Abma Counselling ensure clients receive consistent, high-quality care?
A: We meet regularly for supervision, peer consultation, and training. Every therapist follows clear practice standards for ethics, documentation, and confidentiality. Quality and consistency are a shared responsibility here.
